history of Siam

Siam is the original name of the kingdom of Thailand. Sing, the founder and original chef of Taste of Siam, was born in Ubon Thailand. Ubon is part of the northeastern region near the border of Laos and Cambodia. His family owned a muay thai camp and grocery store that served kick boxers and kick boxing fans.

In 1980, Sing and his family moved to New Mexico, where he worked as a chef. In 1991, Sing moved to Western New York and his family joined him in 2000. Sing wanted to bring the authentic flavors of Thailand to the city of Buffalo. His dreams came true in 2001 when Taste of Thai first opened. Twelve years later, in 2013, Taste of Siam opened. Sing has since left his legacy to his son Bobby to continue the family business.

Esan Style Cooking

Taste of Siam provides its customers with family recipes that have been passed down for six generations. The dishes are influenced by the Esan style of cooking, which is a combination of Thai and Lao cuisine.
